
Ken Hoover
Chief Supply Chain Officer
Ken joined Land O’Lakes in 2012 as Strategic Operations Director for their Animal Nutrition business. He later served as Strategic Operations Director for their Crop Inputs business where he led the Agronomy Service Center organization, including the post-merger integration of WinField and United Suppliers (now WinField United) service centers. Ken also led the execution of a supply chain optimization initiative which included the transition to a more efficient and predictable distribution model that improved service and drove cost effectiveness for our members.
Prior to joining Land O’Lakes, Ken had a 24-year career at Cargill. Most of that time was spent in Cargill’s Animal Nutrition business where he relocated multiple times to manage groups of feed mills. During this time, he was twice awarded the President’s Award, the business unit’s highest recognition. In 2000, Ken relocated to Minneapolis to take a role supervising ~50 domestic and international feed manufacturing facilities and leading global safety and energy conservation programs. He also spent time in Cargill’s Salt and Deicing Technology businesses leading safety, quality and R&D functions as well as operations for their solar salt, deep shaft mining and terminal network. At the end of his Cargill tenure, Ken was part of an ERP deployment team leading global process improvement projects aimed at standardizing processes and generating cost savings.
Ken earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State’s College of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. He has an MBA in Global Operations and Supply Chain Management and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
