Land O’Lakes launches limited-time offering of everything-flavored butter spread, exclusively in Aldi stores

Every Little Thing™ Butter Spread offers a classic, yet more accessible, “everything” flavor option for consumers

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (March 15, 2023) – Today, Land O’Lakes is launching a limited-time everything-bagel-flavored butter spread called Land O Lakes® Every Little Thing™ Butter Spread. This butter spread will be available nationwide exclusively in Aldi stores, in the Aldi Finds aisle, for just two weeks starting March 15.  

Data from recent years shows consumer demand for everything bagel seasoning has been on the rise. In 2022, there were 39 new everything bagel products launched, compared to just five in 2015*. Market research also shows bread products are the most common to feature everything bagel seasoning and that butter is the product most used with bread**. 

Based on these insights and the positive performance of previous seasonal and flavored butter spreads, Land O’Lakes wanted to create a classic and spreadable everything bagel taste. 

“We are committed to investing in innovation at Land O’Lakes and always looking for ways to evolve our offerings to better meet the changing needs of consumers,” said Heather Anfang, U.S. Vice President of Land O’Lakes Dairy Foods. “We think this butter spread offers people the ability to break out of their routine and easily enhance the flavor of their favorite foods.” 

Everything bagel seasoning is traditionally a mix of garlic, dried onion, salt, poppy and sesame seeds. But because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently added sesame as the ninth major food allergen, the innovation team was inspired to create a more accessible product that more people can enjoy. So, instead of sesame seeds, Every Little Thing™ Butter Spread includes hemp seeds, which bring a similar texture and color as sesame.
