WinField United employee gets a 'corny' proposal

We caught up with Caroline to hear all about it — from planning to planting to proposal

Caroline Liggett, who works at WinField United as a sales development manager, is getting a taste of internet fame thanks to her elaborate and gigantic engagement! Her boyfriend, Tim Sullivan, secretly planted a 13-acre corn maze at his family’s farm in Ohio using a high-tech tractor and precision planting to spell out, “Will you marry me, Caroline?”

Caroline says Tim took her up in a plane for the big reveal and to pop the question. The story has been shared by media outlets such as NBC News, The Washington Post and People Magazine. We caught up with Caroline to hear all about how it went down—from planning and planting to their viral engagement.

Caroline began her WinField United tenure as an intern in 2021. During her internship, she really connected with the cooperative message of WinField United and Land O’Lakes. The experience made such an impact on her that she decided to stay after graduating college and build her career with WinField United as a sales development manager. In her job, Caroline works closely with Land O’Lakes ag retail-owner Sunrise Cooperative, based in Ohio, and provides retail support for seed.

Her fiancé, Tim, used to work for a competing ag company but recently moved to another one that also supports—you guessed it—Sunrise Cooperative. Caroline says that after their regular workdays, they both pitch in on the farm—something that’s helped them relate even more to the growers they work with, since they’re living that life, too.

As for the big day? Caroline and Tim are planning to tie the knot in May 2026, and they’re hoping to host their reception right on Tim’s newly purchased farm.
