As a century-old, member-owned cooperative, we take seriously our role as a force for good in our communities and for our planet. We’re uniquely built to take on this role with a co-op ownership model that we’re deeply proud of, a legacy of innovation and four diverse businesses actively working to shape the future of agriculture (Dairy Foods, Animal Nutrition, WinField United and Truterra) in partnership with farmers and retailers. 
We know that progress isn’t possible without partnership. We’re working to convene, collaborate and innovate across our entire ecosystem. Here are just a few examples: 

• Sequestering nearly 200,000 metric tons of carbon (and returning nearly $4 million to farmers) with Truterra’s inaugural carbon offset program, and more on the way through its 2022 program. 
• Launching our Dairy 2025 Commitment to help our 1,600 member-owners reduce their individual environmental footprint. Since the program’s launch last year, nearly 70% of our milk supply has completed the initial assessment, a key first step. 
• Bridging the digital divide by expanding much-needed broadband service to rural communities through the American Connection Project, which was recently recognized for its innovation by Fast Company. 

From committing to reaching net zero by 2050 in our Scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions, to using 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable consumer packaging by 2030, to reducing waste to landfill by 50% by 2030, to other targeted goals focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainable sourcing, support for smallholder farmers and more, our ESG goals guide us as we work in areas where we can have the most impact. 

By standing together as a cooperative of retailer owners, local cooperatives and farmers, we can create a sustainable future, help ensure a safe and plentiful food supply, and work to ensure vibrant communities.
