NACo report released showcasing inaccurate picture of nation’s broadband coverage

The National Association of Counties (NACo) released the report Understanding the True State of Connectivity in America. The findings detail a disparity of broadband access availability, in contrast with current data provided to the Federal Communications Commission. The report found, through a year of research with a mobile app, TestIT, nearly two-thirds (65 percent) of U.S. counties experience the internet at speeds below minimum federal standards.
Land O’Lakes, Inc. has signed on as an official sponsor with NACo on the deployment of the TestIT app. The app is designed to identify areas with low or no connectivity in order to gain a more accurate picture of connectivity.
This effort is a part of Land O’Lakes’ work to find solutions for the lack of adequate broadband access, which impacts rural communities across the country.
