The Downtown Minneapolis Skyline With U.S. Bank Stadium For the Land O

Farm Bowl: From farm to fork to football

The Land O'Lakes Farm Bowl is Thursday, Feb. 1

The countdown is on. In just a few short weeks, Minnesota and U.S. Bank Stadium will play host to arguably one of the most-hyped pop culture events of the year. Visitors from far and wide will soon begin arriving in the Bold North for a 10-day celebration leading up to the Big Game on February 4.

Many questions remain to be answered between now and then. Will Tom Brady and the New England Patriots punch their ticket to the Twin Cities to compete in their tenth bowl game? Or (knock on wood) will the Minnesota Vikings triumphantly become the first team to play in the championship on its home turf?

And, there’s another major question that’s top-of-mind: Who will take home the gridiron gold in the “second” biggest event in Minnesota that same week? Yes, all eyes will be on 3M Arena at Mariucci at the University of Minnesota as the Land O’Lakes Farm Bowl kicks-off at 1pm on Thursday, Feb. 1.

This first-of-its-kind event for Land O'Lakes brings together some of the biggest names in professional football -- past and present -- and pairs them with our very own members in a battle for the agricultural ages.

“The Land O’Lakes Farm Bowl is an event that all of us at LOL, our members and our partners are especially proud of,” says Chris Policinski, President and CEO of Land O’Lakes.

“It helps us shine a light on modern farming and inspire the next generation of agriculture enthusiasts.”

Jerome Bettis, who will join Land O’Lakes member farmer Katie Dotterer-Pyle on “Team Mustangs,” just made the New York City media rounds promoting the Farm Bowl and sharing our modern ag story.

THE PLAYING FIELD

Trading in touchdowns and turnovers for tractors and trowels, our teams will carry out a series of farm-related challenges that exemplify the shared core principles of professional football and modern farming: strength, endurance, intelligence and coordination.

Between the Tractor Tire Change, Hay Bale Back-up, Drone Drop, Milk Pipe Puzzle and the championship round Feed Run, these competitors will have to bring their A-game.

Adding to the star power, ESPN reporter Marty Smith will host the event. Football analyst Trey Wingo will provide color commentary, and multi-platinum recording artist and actress Jordin Sparks will report from the sidelines.

THE GLORY

After the dust settles a Land O’Lakes Farm Bowl champion will be crowned. And to the victors go the spoils… in the form of some pretty impressive hardware.

Perhaps most importantly, we will have presented the Land O’Lakes story, agriculture and modern farming in a whole new light and to a whole new demographic. At Land O’Lakes, we’re proud of our farm-to-fork roots, and our goal is to inspire the next generation.
