The Land O’Lakes Foundation has recently approved additional funds in support of an expanded focus on hunger issues, and we’re inviting cooperative members to use these funds for hunger relief projects underway in their local communities. The Land O’Lakes Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar, up to $400,000, the cash donations of member cooperatives, thus doubling the funds available for projects that address hunger issues. Complete details are available by clicking here or the Feeding Our Communities display ad to the right.
Our members are very excited about this new program!

About the Land O’Lakes Foundation
Our belief in dedication, collaboration, stewardship and growth exemplifies our commitment to improving the quality of life in communities where the cooperative has members, employees, plants and facilities. The Foundation helps rural communities prosper and prepare for tomorrow by donating resources that develop and strengthen organizations dedicated to human services, education and youth, civic activities
and the arts.
Since 1997, the Foundation has awarded more than $12 million in grants through a variety of giving programs, such as “Dollars for Doers,” the “Member Co-op Match” program and “Matching Gifts to Education.” The Land O’Lakes Foundation began managing the John Brandt Scholarship Fund in 2007. This graduate-level scholarship program donates at least one $25,000 scholarship annually for dairy- or food-related Ph.D.-level students in honor of Land O’Lakes, Inc.’s founding father, John Brandt.
Land O’Lakes donated 1.5 percent of its 2008 pretax profits as cash to the Foundation, with an additional 0.5 percent in the form of in-kind product donations primarily to Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger-relief charity. During 2008, the Foundation channeled more than $1.3 million through 860 grants distributed in 27 states.
