Members of our Finance and Accounting teams are responsible for ensuring fiscal accountability across the company. These essential activities include: accounting; financial planning, analysis and cost control; paying the Corporate taxes; overseeing consumer and member credit; and ensuring that our company has the financial assets and liquidity it needs to perform all business functions.

With nearly a century of experience as America’s dairy specialist, Land O’Lakes draws on its R&D knowledge and resources to help customers take advantage of the latest dairy developments to launch products that meet real market needs. Our world-class Dairy Foods R&D team has a wide range of capabilities – including sensory evaluation, culinary support, package engineering, pilot production, and product testing and analysis. In addition, new products and recipes are tested in our state-of-the-art Test Kitchens. Land O’Lakes also has a comprehensive dairy research facility and pilot plant.
Our LongView Animal Nutrition Center, located on 1,188 acres in Gray Summit, Mo., is the premier animal nutrition Research & Development facility in North America. Our R&D professionals for the Feed side of the business are Nutritionists, Veterinarians and managers who are concerned with the interrelationship of good feed practices, good health, proper growth and development, and optimum performance. No other national brand of feed has invested more time in research and understanding the needs of our customers and animals.
Our Winfield Solutions business conducts research and development to find innovative ways to help growers determine the optimum seed solution and crop protection for their specific acreage. Some of the research projects include: genetic placement, emergence, seed treatments, pest control, nutrient management, disease tolerance, weed and pest control, disease management, root scores, comparisons of seed brands and season-end crop protection techniques. Our expert-agronomists then use the research data to educate agronomists, dealers and growers through our Answer Plot™ sessions, where they learn about current trends and seed-based solutions and other agronomic-based techniques that can boost crop performance.

Sales is a dynamic area within Land O’Lakes that strives to grow our market share in all our businesses. Members of our Sales team are truly on the “front-line” in terms of building positive customer relationships and driving business growth.
Our Dairy Food Sales team is comprised of our Value-added Foodservice (Operator and Field Sales), Retail/Deli Sales and Category Management divisions. Land O’Lakes Dairy Solutions sales areas target Ingredient Solutions, full service restaurant sales, non-commercial/schools and operator sales. Expert Dairy Foods Sales professionals have helped Land O’Lakes achieve the #1 share of foodservice branded butter/spreads.
Our Land O’Lakes Purina Feed Sales team covers many areas of expertise, including dairy, beef, swine, equine, exotic, companion animals, wildlife, poultry and others. They have assisted our company in becoming an industry-leader in both biotech traits and manufacturing and distributing crop protection products.
Our WinField Solutions Sales team sells a variety of brands, including CROPLAN GENETICS® seed, AgriSolutions™ crop protection products, Origin® brand plant nutrients and other proprietary products. Members of this team deliver products with outstanding solutions and value for the agricultural industry.

Successful companies understand the importance of supporting energetic “front room” functions (like Sales and Marketing) with efficient “back room” and support functions (like Supply Chain Management). Our Supply Chain team plays a vital role in keeping our manufacturing, transportation and distribution systems operating smoothly and efficiently. Supply Chain professionals are responsible for all logistical aspects of keeping ingredients and products moving, including demand planning, purchasing raw materials, quality assurance, and the transportation of the final product.
Currently the Land O’Lakes Supply Chain includes more than 86 plants nationwide. Since the Supply Chain is integrated across all business units, these employment positions offer the ability to gain increasing responsibility by assuming roles in larger plants, based on individual skill sets. An additional benefit to starting a career in the Land O’Lakes Supply Chain is the training program for Plant Manager Trainees. This 12-month program teaches all aspects of plant management in preparation for progression into a plant manager role.

Legal professionals are our in-house legal counsel and are assigned to handle legal issues for the corporation, as well as the company’s various businesses. They have expertise in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, employment law, trademarks and patents, Securities and Exchange rulings, and much more.
Business Development Services professionals provide insight and support to Land O’Lakes partner cooperatives. These services are provided in the way of business training, sharing agricultural expertise and helping member cooperatives achieve the best business practices and growth possible.
Corporate Strategy professionals are in charge of helping our business units function more efficiently under the corporate umbrella ensuring that all processes are streamlined for faster, more effective service to our members and customers.
Corporate Marketing and Communications team is responsible for media relations, corporate marketing and image development, and communication with a diverse range of audiences (members, employees, general public and media).
In the last few years, the Land O'Lakes internship program has grown to include about 50 interns, both undergraduate and graduate level, spread out in positions in more than 14 states. These interns are playing an ever-increasing role in the current and future success of the company.
